The voting almost closed with visiting the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood as #1. However, two very important votes were cast at the last second bringing visiting the Temple Mount up to a 5 to 5 tie! Amazing! (These two surprise votes were from two individuals in the Jerusalem area. Who could they be?) Therefore, since we have a 5 to 5 tie we will do these two activities this week and next week. And there will be no poll next week. This gives the Nelson clan the ability to rally for a potential Tower of David sweep.
Actually the timing works out best to visit the Temple Mount this week as we can include Erika’s friend – Ben – before he leaves the country for YWAM. Additionally we can visit Mea Shearim next week during the height of the festival of Sukkot (Tabernacles) (See Lev 23) and should afford some interesting looks at some sukkot if we can get pictures. Sometimes the residents of this neighborhood are not too keen on pics. We’ll see what we can do.
Anyway sorry for the slight switcheroo.
By the way for those who are interested. The sukkot started going up here as soon as Rosh HaShanna was done even though they don’t have to go up until about two weeks after Rosh Hashana. It reminds me of our own family’s tradition – growing up – where we set up the Christmas tree as soon as Thanksgiving was done.
We’ll definitely have sukkot pics for you in the near future.
Stay tuned.
