Yes, that is the question these days. Here is a picture of my absolutely adorable and incredibly weird child 🙂 sleeping in the car coming home from TN. Even in the warmth of the car and in the car seat she still wanted her face covered while she slept. Yes, I moved her head after the picture so it wasn’t in that position too long.
When Rina was 6 mos old she slept from 8:30pm-7:30ish am with narry a difficulty. Yes, she would wake up but all I’d have to do is put her pacifier back in her mouth and she’d fall back asleep. When she was 7 mos old Rina began to wake up between 4 and 6:30am for her morning milk and then sleep in until 9ish. I LOVED that on Saturdays will be honest. Now that she is 8 mos old however she has begun to wake up between midnight and 2 am for her first feeding and then again around 5 for her second. HOWEVER, last night she woke up at 11:30, 2:40, and 5:45 to nurse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello! Don’t you realize you are old enough to sleep through the night now! Yes, I give her cereal and nurse her before bed, that doesn’t seem to be making much difference. Yes, I let her fuss before I get up to nurse her. The other night she fell back asleep within a couple minutes but one night I did let her fuss for about an hour before I finally got her (I know I felt terrible). Someone tell me this will not last forever! I will sleep through the night again one day right?????
I will say it again – God knew what He was doing when He made moms with an overwhelming love for their children otherwise there’d be a whole lot less children in the world 🙂

Since I blogged about the “in or out” I have been very convicted about speeding. I’ve been trying to drive the speed limit now which is easy in the faster areas but VERY Hard on the 25mph streets. Anyway, it has actually made a difference in my driving itself. I had no clue it would. I am much more relaxed and calm when I drive. Instead of feeling rushed and like I need to get there ASAP I know I’ll get there eventually and it’s ok. I don’t get as frustrated when I get behind a slow car or there’s a lot of traffic. I don’t weave in and out of traffic as much either. It’s made driving a lot more enjoyable I must say 🙂 I would really recommend trying it for a few days to just see if it helps.
Oh I can already tell driving with you is going to annoy me… *sigh
Yes, but it will relax you and that's the important point.
Frankly, you might need to let her fuss for a long time a couple days in a row. According to doctors (and many moms I know!) she doesn't NEED to be eating in the middle of the night. Plus, you're up a creek anyway as the 8-9 month range is a big developmental spurt and therefore a bad sleeping time. Her little brain is on overdrive and she's waking up more from that than hunger. She'll just eat since she's already up.
Sooo…9 mos wasn't my favorite in terms of sleep. I think I had already weaned Randi off of her night nursing anyway, but she woke up a lot. You can also try a sippy or bottle of water. Sometimes just a drink of something will help.
Good luck and take a nap! 🙂
Also: she's such a cute little sleeper!
