In many ways, though, I’ve been reminded how tough life can be and so many people are struggling with heavy burdens. And sometime you just get tired and think “I’m done. I can’t do this anymore, God, I don’t have anything left. I’m just plain done.” Well, one day when I was praying for a friend who had hit this point the Lord reminded me of a song written by SCC years ago. And I’d like to share it with you and pray that the Holy Spirit uses it to encourage you as it has often encouraged me.

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
Yet sometimes I wonder what He can do through me
No great success to show, no glory of my own
Yet in my weakness He is there to let me know

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power the weak become strong
His strength is perfect. His strength is perfect

We can only know the power that He holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes
His strength in us begins where ours comes to an end
He hears our humble cry and proves again

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power the weak become strong
His strength is perfect. His strength is perfect

May we learn the truth that we can’t carry on in our own strength. We can’t be strong enough to do it on our own. We desperately need Someone else to carry the burden, do the deed, commit the action through us and for us. We have a Father in heaven who desperately loves us and longs to be our strength, all we have to do is ask. So may we learn to ask and then trust.
