I went to a conference recently that was incredibly encouraging and amazingly terrifying at the same time. Several of the sessions that I went to talked specifically on the rights of parents and where this world is quickly heading. Another session was about education and where the people in charge of education are wanting things to go.

As a mother of young children both of these sessions were enough to cause some fear and anxiety I will admit. I told Bry I was ready to grab my kids and leave the country but I had no clue where to head!

Several of speakers referenced the idea that certain people in positions of power were trying very very hard to remove God from every single equation. For instance by evolution you remove God from science, and through different law techniques you can remove God and certain “absolute truths” from the Constitution and the way this country runs.

If you remove God from the equation, you set up man to become God. We decide what’s right and wrong for us. We decide how best we want to live. No one can tell us what to do. And this isn’t just America, this is happening to a greater or lesser degree world-wide and some countries are actually farther than we are in this ‘removal of God.’

With this fear of the future in my mind reciting Psalm 2 hit home to me in a huge way. Ps 2 states “Why do the nations conspire? And the peoples plot in vain. The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One. Let us break their chains, they say, and throw off their fetters! The One enthroned in heaven laughs and the Lord scoffs at them. Then He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath saying, I have installed My King on Zion, My Holy hill.”

It is true, as much as I want to stick my head in the sand and ignore it – this world is banding together to remove their Creator. They are trying their hardest to get God out. They are doing their best to break their ‘chains’ and throw off what they consider to be ‘fetters’ i.e. obedience to God and His commands. And one day people like me will only be in their way.

Ps 2 gives me comfort in several ways. First, this has been happening since the garden of Eden. For the last how many thousands of years people have been trying to remove God and it hasn’t happened yet. Secondly, God laughs at them. I doubt it’s a hilarious-this-is-great-laugh! Probably more like a you-poor-pitiful-fools-laugh. God isn’t worries. God hasn’t lost control. You can’t remove God from anything. He’s God! Thirdly, it may not be easy but it’s going to be ok bc God’s already won. His King has already been established and it’s only a matter of time till His Kingdom covers the earth.

Be encouraged today, believer! Things are getting dark outside but the morning is coming. Kings are taunting, nations are falling, but God has won. And one day we won’t be the only knows who this!
