Psalm 89 is an amazing Psalm and I love the different ways it talks about God’s faithfulness.
1: I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
2: For I said, ‘Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.’
8: O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as You are, O Lord, with Your faithfulness all around You?
14: Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before You.
30-33: If his children forsake My Torah and do not walk according to my rules, if they violate My statutes and do not keep My commandments, then I will punish their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes, but I will not remove from him My steadfast love or be false to My faithfulness.
One reason you are able to be here today and praise your God is because of His faithfulness. If He were not faithful, you would not be here; He would have wiped out this world, the universe, or mankind long ago.
Because of the faithfulness of the Father you are alive.
Because of the faithfulness of the Son you have been saved.
Because of the faithfulness of the Holy Spirit you are able to persevere and walk in newness of life.
Your God is a faithful God.
As the old hymn says, “Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father. There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not. As Thou hast been Thou forever will be. Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.”
