Ps. 11:3-4 “When the foundations are being destroyed what can the righteous do? The Lord is in His holy temple. The Lord is on His heavenly throne.”
Sometimes it’s good to be reminded of the truth that God is in control. And He is exactly where He’s always been. The Creator of the universe is in His holy temple, and He is on His heavenly throne. And there is no power in this universe that can remove Him or take away His crown.
Nations will come and nations will go. God alone remains.
The Nations Vrs God
Isaiah 40 actually compares nations as a drop in God’s bucket or dust on God’s scales. It says He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. They’re planted then God blows on them and they whither and are gone. But, to whom will you compare God, who is His equal? He calls out the starry host one by one. Because He is holding them none of the stars have disappeared. Isaiah even declares that God does not get tired and never gets weary.
Even young people get tired and need a break. But not our God.
Be at peace, Believer, these may be days when our foundations are being not only shaken but destroyed and we wonder what is a righteous person honestly able to do? God is still in His temple and He is still on His throne. He is not being shaken, and He is not at a loss as to what to do. He is God.
And be encouraged this morning believer. One day you will be vindicated and the nations will know that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the one true God and every knee will know and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Whether they want to or not.
