I was reading one night ‘the top ten public apologies’ people have had to offer over the years. Lance Armstrong was #1 but it ranged from Politicians to Pastors, athletes to celebrities, and it was incredibly discouraging. I remember talking to Bry about it saying “you can’t trust anyone these days about anything! Who can you trust?!”

Do you realize this world is dying for someone and something to believe in. Corrupt politicians are a dime a dozen these days. It doesn’t matter what party you belong to. Many athletes seem to be incredibly arrogant, and you don’t even want to know what I think about celebrities! As the song says “I need a hero!”

Well, I found one.

His name is Jesus. A man of courage and strength. He didn’t back down. He didn’t change who He was to fit His surroundings. A man of gentleness and humble in heart. He wept when a close friend died, and He took time to heal a woman who probably hadn’t been touched in years. A man of sincerity and truth. He always spoke the truth but it was always done in love.

Jesus. He was a real man, a man’s man. A man other men wanted to be like and aspired to. But he was also a man a woman could trust to hold her heart. Jesus. I want my daughters to marry a man just like Him, and I want my son to grow up and be just like Him. Jesus.

There is a world outside dying for a hero, for a cause greater and bigger than themselves. They want someone to believe in, something to die for. We know Jesus, the most amazing man who ever lived! There is no greater Hero or cause! Why aren’t we telling people about Him? Why aren’t we living like we believe it? May God have mercy on us and may we begin spreading the word.
