Time for a look at the story and purpose of the Writings. The Writings answer questions of how to live in the here and now. The Tanak ends with the hope that we are still waiting for the Son of David to reign in Jerusalem.
If you are looking for our Genesis study that’s episodes #125-146 and our Exodus study is episodes # 44-59.

Hi Erika,
My Jewish friend answered what she knew about what Reformed Jewish children learn in Hebrew School. Here’s her response. BTW I put a plug in for the Context and Color of the Bible 😉🙂.
Lori wrote: “ Well, since Hebrew school is reallytaught when you are pretty young, the primary focus was learning to read Hebrew to prepare for a bar or bat mitzvah. The way they teach now is likely very different than when I went through Hebrew school. When one gets past bar mitzvah, you may go to class and talk about modern events as it relates to Judaism and less so the Bible and various books, A lot of that teaching takes place in adult education for people interested in further discussion. For example, my father goes to Torah study every Saturday where they talk about whatever portion is being read. I am really not at all versed in the Torah. It’s a big weakness and just takes time which I don’t have because I work too much and it’s not a priority even though one of my regular walking friends is our rabbi.”
Interesting! Thanks Winnie
